Here is a great new site that has over 70 recipes!

One of my favorite pastimes is creating new recipes with essential oils.    I believe that when blending with essential oils it is important to make it fun and a bit challenging.   I am always asking myself what can I come up with that I haven’t seen, but would enjoy.   Below are a few of my creations that are all very well tested by both myself and many of my trusting friends and family members.   I hope you enjoy.   (no animals other than humans were utilized for this research)

(recipe for one bath)

1 cup of Epsom Salt (Cleansing)

3/4 cup of Food Grade Baking Soda (Alkalizing)

1/4 cup of Sea Salts – The more different types of sea salts the better (Mineralizing)

5-15 Drop of Essential Oils – Lavender, Roman Chamomile, Jasmine & Rose are all ready choices.    Oregano, Cinnamon, Cassia, Thyme, Melaleuca & Lemongrass are too “hot” for this purpose in my opinion.    (Relaxing)

1/2 cup of Coconut Oil (solid form)

1/2 cup of organic brown sugar

20-40 drops of essential oils

  • for detox scrub, consider citrus oils with frankincense, sandalwood, rosemary, cilantro, thyme, small amounts of lemongrass  and many others (depends on what you desire to cleanse)
  • for skin health, consider bergamot, cypress, helichrysum, peppermint, rosemary, tea tree, thyme, ylang ylang complete, & bergamot (coconut base is also great for skin)

Glass Jar (I like to save any pretty glass jar for this purpose)

1 quart of organic apple cider vinegar

20-30 drops total of essential oils of basil, thyme, ginger, cilantro, black pepper, coriander, rosemary, lemon, orange, grapefruit, marjoram, & fennel.   Test for strength as this may be too strong for those new to essential oils.

To make this a salad dressing add 10% healthy oil.  I recommend avocado oil, hemp oil, olive oil or coconut oil, but any healthy oil will work great.

4 oz Spray Bottle

3.5 oz Colloidal Silver (kills bacteria)

add 30 drops of any essential oil (I recommend woods for men, lavender or ylang ylang for women and patchouli for hippies)

If you prefer a solid deodorant, here is a list of ingredients Sam Wish uses in her blend.   You can find this and more awesome products on her website here:

Pure Beeswax, Coconut Oil, Baking Soda, Arrowroot Powder, Lavender Essential Oil, Melaleuca Essential Oil

The trick to candles is to remember that essential oils by nature are aromatic (easily evaporated), so they will flash quickly in high temperatures.   The ways around this are to coat the wick, coat the sides of the glass and add the oils at the last possible point (less temperature the better).

Hannah Mead has a great site that describes how she makes her meditation soaps here.   We prefer glycerin to lye and hemp oil is a great base. (She does 7 soaps for the 7 chakras too!)

Check out the summary of ingredients by Sam Wish here.   She mastered this one:    (don’t feel like making stuff?   just buy from Sam!)

2 mL Frankincense

2 mL Myrrh

4 mL Colloidal Gold (be careful in how you source this and do your own research before consuming gold please)  (this is the site you can get quality gold and other great stuff from:

3-4 small chunks of Frankincense & Myrrh

3-4 specs of gold ‘flakes’  (get this from a bakery supply store)

3 wise men 4 sizes

YUMMY SUN (sunscreen that melts away fat cells, keeps bugs away, reduces aging spots and is a salad dressing!)

30 mL of Raspberry Seed Oil (natural SPF of ~30)  Obtain from organic source (this is not available from any of the essential oil companies listed above.   Replace with Zinc Oxide, but this makes the recipe non consumable.    The consumable part is partly for show, but proves the point that it can be done successfully)

5 Tablespoons fractionated coconut oil (natural SPF of ~8)

20 drops Helichrysum (sunscreen)

30 drops Lavender (sunscreen, fat melter and scent)

30 drops Patchouli (sunscreen and scent)

20 drops Myrrh (sunscreen)

5 drops Eucalyptus (fat melter and liquid air conditioner)

5 drops Peppermint (fat melter and liquid air conditioner) (this low amount should be safe for eyes, but can be removed if concerned about this as its not an active ingredient for blocking the sun)

10 drop of Frankincense (reduces aging spots and helps with sun damage in general)

This blend should be fairly water proof, but re-apply every few hours to be safe…

IF PLAYING WITH SUNSCREEN BLENDS AND WEIGHT LOSS OILS, IT IS CRITICAL TO KNOW ABOUT PHOTOTOXICITY.  Don’t use Grapefruit or any of these others listed here…  Citrus essential oils (lemon, lime, orange, tangerine, grapefruit and lemongrass) are to be used with caution due to their inherent PHOTOSENSITIVITY.

DOODLE-BUG ROMANCE ENHANCER (for men & women!) Dooble-bug is a pheromone activator and aphrodisiac blend that provides romance enhancement in ways that you may not be able to imagine unless you have tried it.    One thing to remember about activating pheromones though is that we are not drawn to the person we would have an amazing wonderful relationship with, but more so the person that we would make the healthiest, most intelligent and beautiful off-spring with.    Dooblebug can be applied below the belly button and brain stem for fastest ‘activation’.    Remove Cinnamon and Clove from the recipe if you would like to apply elsewhere (wink wink).

Liquid A/C – cooling body spritzerThis one is simple, Peppermint and Eucalyptus and peppermint provide localized cooling to the skin wherever they touch, so this blend just takes advantage of that.   Another great  trick is to spray this into an ice chest filled with ice water and towels.     Then wrap the towel around your neck for amazing body core cooling.

10 drops peppermint

10 drops eucalyptus

5 drops lemon (optional)

5 drops helichrysum,

12 – 25 drops Lavender,

3 drops peppermint,

2 oz fractionated coconut oil.

You can also simply put lavender in a water bottle with water and mist, or apply directly.  Don’t use cheap lavender, might contain Lavendin -which is a skin irritant or worse might be synthetic which will have no benefit and possibly irritating to the skin.  Also, some companies will use chemical solvents to extract the oil, these are also skin irritants.  For best results, stay with dōTERRA.
